Open source
Sluice's tunnels are built by open-source engines. They run as separate programs; the Sluice app itself is not open source and does not contain their code.
| Engine | Version | License | Used for |
|---|---|---|---|
| strongSwan (charon) | 6.1.0 | GPL-2.0-or-later | IKEv2 |
| openfortivpn | 1.24.1 | GPL-3.0 | FortiGate SSL-VPN |
| OpenSSL | 3.5.9 | Apache-2.0 | cryptography, linked into both |
Because OpenSSL 3 is under the Apache License 2.0, the engine binaries as distributed are covered by the GPL version 3.
Sources
The build scripts, the exact source versions with their checksums and Sluice's own strongSwan plugin are published at github.com/UAnton/sluice-engines. Each Sluice release names the commit its engines were built from; the release's source archives are published there with it. The license texts also ship inside the app, in Sluice.app/Contents/Resources/Engines/licenses.
